Privacy Policy
Overview & Information Ownership
This Privacy Policy describes the policies of the Sitcrack Team regarding the information we collect or receive about our customers. It is applicable to the Sitcrack website, as well as all other applications, services, or downloads that are operated by our team (collectively, "the Service"). We have established this policy to let you know what kinds of personal information we gather, why we gather it, what we use it for, and how you can manage it at any time.
One of the basic principles we’ve followed in designing this service is that we ask for only the information we need to provide the specific features you’ve requested. As a result, what we collect and store depends almost entirely on how you choose to make use of our site and our services. You retain ownership of any information you personally author and collect through the sites provided. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this policy.
Data Collection & Usage Tracking
Sitcrack is built with a focus on privacy and efficiency. While we prioritize keeping your data local, we do collect certain information to provide the core experience and functionality you expect from a cross-platform service:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we store your email and basic profile details to manage your access, subscriptions, and sync your preferences across devices.
- Usage & Progress: To provide features like workout streaks, break consistency tracking, and daily limits, we sync high-level activity records (such as when a session is started or completed) to our secure servers. This allows you to maintain your progress regardless of which device you are using.
- Subscription Status: If you upgrade to Pro, we maintain a record of your subscription tier and renewal date to ensure your features are unlocked whenever you are logged in.
- Analytics & Improvements: We use industry-standard analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to collect anonymized usage data. This helps us understand which routines are most popular and how we can improve the overall user experience. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Cookies: We use cookies to help the service recognize your preferences and ensure a seamless, interruption-free experience across the site and extension.
Permissions & Browser Interaction
Because our product facilitates physical wellness by managing your screen time, the extension requires permission to "read and change data on all websites." We want to be clear about why: this is the only technical way we can implement the screen takeover effect that guides you through a break. When a break triggers, Sitcrack overlays a message on your active tab to encourage you to move.
Critically, we never read the actual content of the pages you visit, nor do we record your keystrokes or form data. We use browser permissions solely for the visual implementation of the Service and to ensure the break prompt is effective enough to get you away from the screen.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) regulates the online collection of information from persons under the age of 13. It is our strict policy to refrain from knowingly collecting or maintaining personally identifiable information relating to any person under the age of 18.
If you are under the age of 18, please do not supply any personally identifiable information through our site or extension. If you have already provided such information, please have your parent or guardian contact us immediately using the contact information provided below so that we can remove such information from our files and cease any further data processing.
Ordering & Financial Information
When you order Pro features, we may request information such as your name, billing address, and financial details (credit card number and expiration date). This information is used strictly for billing purposes and to fulfill your order. If we have trouble processing a payment, we use this contact information to reach you.
We utilize secure, industry-standard third-party payment processors (such as Stripe or Lemon Squeezy) to handle financial transactions. We do not store your full credit card number on our own servers; instead, we rely on encrypted tokens provided by these PCI-compliant services to manage your subscription.
Log Files & Traffic Analysis
We collect traffic information from visitors for statistical analysis and infrastructure health monitoring. When you access our site, we may automatically collect information in a server log file. This may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamps, and number of clicks.
We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movements in the aggregate, and gather demographic information for overall use. Notably, IP addresses and log file information are not linked to personally identifiable information. We do not attempt to track or identify users individually through these logs.
Sharing & Disclosure
Aggregated Data: We may share aggregated, non-identifiable demographic information with our users, our affiliated organizations, and other organizations with which we do business. This information is combined results and is not linked to any information that can identify individual users.
General Use: We do not sell or trade your personally identifiable information. Our business is built around selling a valuable product, not your personal data. However, there are specific cases in which we may need to transfer PII, such as to comply with a legal request, assist law enforcement, or protect our property (including investigating violations of our terms).
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be involved in the transfer. You will be notified by email or a prominent notice on our site of any change in ownership or uses of your personally identifiable information.
Security & Protection
We are committed to protecting your personal information and use a variety of technologies and procedures to help guard against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All personal information we collect or receive is stored in protected operating environments that are not available to the public.
When sensitive data is transmitted, it is protected using strong cryptography (SSL/TLS). Our sites are routinely checked for security compliance, and we enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all administrative access to our data infrastructure. While no system is 100% secure, we follow industry best practices to ensure your data remains as safe as possible.
Corrections, Opt-out & Global Rights
If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire to use Sitcrack, you may contact us using the information below, and we will accommodate all reasonable requests for updates or deletion. We respect your "right to be forgotten" and will comply with data removal requests as soon as is commercially practicable.
Users who no longer wish to receive newsletters or promotional materials may opt-out by following the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of all our commercial mailings. You also have the right to access the data we hold about you and to request a copy of it in a structured format at any time.
Policy Changes
As Sitcrack evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, changes in the law, or improvements in our data practices. We will post those changes on this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continuing to use the Service after these changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
